Frederice Ghisi, professor of Music at the University of Florence, composer of choral and symphonic works, and author of eight titles on musicology, will lecture next week on Early Italian Music, it was announced today.
Speaking in Paine Hall, Ghisi will discuss "Italian Avs Nova Music" Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., and "Festivities and Shows in Florence During the Rennaissance" Wednesday at 8 p.m., Friday, October 10, also at 8 p.m., he will speak on "The Sacred Stories and Oratories of Giacomo Carissimi."
The lectures, all of which are free and open to the public, are made possible under the terms of the Louis C. Elson bequest.
