Commuters Open New Dudley Grill; Second in College

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The College's second evening grill will begin operation Monday at the Dudley Hall Commuters' Center, Robert L. Fischelis, Graduate Secretary to Dudley, and Charles P. Whitlock, Allston Burr Tutor, announced last night.

Beginning next week, the Grill will be open Mondays through Thursdays from 6 to 11 p.m. The Dudley lounge and TV set will also be opened for use of those patronizing the Grill.

Fischelis and Whitlock indicated that the Grill was primarily intended for commuters, although guests would be welcomed. No money will be handled; coupons will be the sole method of payment.

The Adams House kitchen will provide the Snack-food and drinks. The entire project will be student operated on a non-profit basis.

Plans for the Grill were begun over the summer. Actual organization did not start until the University gave the green light to the new Grill earlier this month. A new refrigerator and other equipment were recently purchased, according to Fischelis, to handle the expected increased load on the Dudley serving facilities.

Biggest snag was the lack of proper electrical equipment in the Center. Workers, however, have made the necessary minor electrical changes during the past week.

Both Whitlock and Fischelis indicated hope that the new grill would help improved commuter-resident relationships.

At present, the only grill in operation at the College is located in the basement of Eliot House.
