Holyoke Alumnae Exceed Yalies In Entering Scientific Careers

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

More Mount Holyoke alumnae take up scientific eareers than graduates of any other women's college in the country, according to a report of Dr. H. B. Goodrich of Wesleyan University.

About 15 of each 1,000 Holyoke members of the test classes between 1924 and 1934 went on to take Ph.D.'s in science, a figure slightly ahead of Yale and barely below Harvard amazingly enough. The average for a group of 153 American liberal arts colleges for men was only three per 1,000 greater than the Mount Holyoke figure.

A fuller report of Dr. Goodrich's findings will appear in his book, "Origins of American Scientists," which will be published soon.
