Eleven Conducts Passing Drill for Princeton Game

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The varsity football team tapered off some rough stuff in preparation for Princeton Saturday and devoted most of its practice yesterday to a long offensive and defensive passing drill.

Bob Margarita brought his freshmen over to give the first varsity defensive unit a taste of the Princeton-style passing attack. Margarita himself did much of the throwing from the tailback position in the semi-live scrimmage.

The first defensive backfield alignment was quite fluid, with all the available defensive backs seeing action in different combinations. Two of the regulars, linebackers Ron Messer and Bob Hardy, were nursing bruises and did not participate.

Offensively, the varsity worked on long pass plays, with Dick Clasby and Hardy Cox doing the throwing. End Hank Rate, slowly working himself into playing shape after being injured against Springfield, alternated with Bob Cochran at right end.
