Varsity Squash Team Battles at MIT Today

With Charlie Ufford still in the number one position after staving off second man Dave Watts in a challenge match yesterday, the varsity squash team meets M.I.T., in its first U.S. intercollegiate competition of the season, at M.I.T. this afternoon.

The first five will be unchanged, with Ufford, Watts, Hadden Tomes, Charlie Elliott, and Larry Brownell playing in that order. Johnny Rauh has moved up to the sixth spot. Mike Ward will play in the seventh position, Guy Paschal eighth, and Bill Wister ninth. Steve Sonnabend is the alternate.

Coach Jack Barnaby thinks the team has come along well in the past week, but said the lineup below Ufford and Watts is still very undecided.

As warm-up for its match at 5:30 p.m. this afternoon against the M.I.T. freshmen at the Tech gym, the Yardling squash team yesterday defeated Newton freshmen, 2 to 0.
