'56 Sextet Swamps Malden; Cleary Scores 5 in 8-1 Win

First line center Bill Cleary pumped in five goals against Malden Catholic yesterday to lead the '56 hockey team to an 8 to 1 victory in its opener at the Arena. The Yardlings scrimmage Milton Academy in the Garden at 4 p.m. today.

Reviving after two periods of ragged play, the freshmen scored six times in the final period. Defenseman Mario Cell and Phil Price and third line left wing Albie Wells each scored once, as freshman coach Myles Huntington alternated three lines and three defenses throughout the game. Goalie Charlie Flynn had 26 saves.
