Two sophomore laden basketball teams will match potentials when the varsity meets twice-beaten Brown in the Blockhouse at 8:30 tonight.
The Crimson freshmen will be looking for their second win when they meet the Brown freshmen in the 6:45 preliminary.
Although the Bruins don't officially become part of the Ivy basketball son will fare in Ivy competition this winter.
Brown, with three sophomores and two juniors in its starting lineup, lost to Springfield and Yale. The Yale game was close, with the Elis closing strong to win by seven points.
Murgo Leads Bruins
Junior Lou Murgo, "one of the finest basketball players in the East," according to Harvard coach Norman Shepard, leads the Bruin five. The five foot eleven Murgo is fast, and used a deadly one hand set shot to score 24 points against Yale. The only other junior on the team is six foot two Joe Christopher, who scores heavily from the outside.
Last year, Brown was the only team to beat the Harvard freshmen; three members of that Bruin team start today. Bill Arnold, six foot four inches, starts at center, but Ed Tooley, two inches shorter, is the team's strongest rebounder. Chuck Asselin, the other starter, is a good floor man and set shot.
Same Crimson Five
Shepard will start the same team that lost to Newport OCS and beat Wesleyan. Bill Dennis, who has a 21 point average, will team with sophomore Harry Sacks at the forwards.
Captain Dick Lionette, who rebounded well against the Cardinals, will start at center, while sophomores Paul Shaw and Roger Bulger will be the guards.
