Faculty Modifies Old Requirement For Teaching MA

In a move to "clear up confusion" on the requirements for a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, the faculty of Arts and Sciences yesterday passed a new motion to replace the mans of previous faculty ruling on the subject.

The general requirements for an MA. degree in teaching now include a minimum of one year of graduate study in the University, the passing of examinations set up by the administrative board, in the subjects the candidate expects to teach, and the completion of an apprenticeship program in teaching approval by the administrative board.

In order to permit undergraduates in the College and Radcliffe to explore their interests in the field of education, the faculty ruled that they could count inward their bachelor degrees three half-courses offered by the faculty of education.

The new legislation solidifies the previous bulk of ruling on the matter.
