Yardling Track Team Opposes Favored Eli, Relays Called Crucial

"We'll have to win both relays to beat them," Yardling track coach Bill McCurdy said yesterday in reference to the mile and two-mile relays in today's most with the heavily-favored Yale freshmen in New Haven at 1:30 p.m.

McCurdy won't have to worry about the one mile, since his quartet has soundly beaten Yale twice. The two-mile is weaker, and McCurdy will use Arnie Howe, John MacFariane, Dave Ingle and Pete Coker.

The Crimson will be strong in the 600 and hurdles with good entries in the high jump, broad jump, mile, and 1000. However, Yale's Hank Thresher should win the sprint, and the Yardlings are weak in the polo vault and weights.
