Petitions for '52 Committee Due Saturday

Student Council President Richard E. Johnson '53 last night predicted a good turnout for the '52 Permanent Class Committee election. More than five petitions have already been deposited at the Council office and two days are still left before Saturday's deadline.

Johnson stated that this number was high compared with other years, and expressed hope that the '52 class will top last year's near-record of 55 candidates.

The three man who receive the highest preferential vote in the election will become the class marshals, and the next nine highest men will serve with the marshals on the Class Committee.

All petitions are due at the Student Council Office in P.B.H. by 5:30--p.m. Saturday, February 23. Elections will be held the following Thursday and Friday, February 28 and 29.

Stressing the importance of the work of the class marshal to the University, Johnson said that "a Class Committee post is probably the highest honor that can be bestowed on a man by his classmates."

The duties of the Committee comprise supervising all '52 class activities after graduation, including class reunions and class liaison with the University.

Approximately two weeks after the election of the Permanent Class Committee, a Class Day Committee will be elected. The Class Day Committee is responsible for class activities during Commencement week.
