Square record dealers reported a comparative calm yesterday after the past week's price-cutting. All four local shops held their price line, but one indicated the possibility of drastic cuts in the near future.
Local buyers took advantage of the reductions to stock up on records, with all four stores reporting greatly increased valume sales. One store showed a jump of over 100 percent in volume.
At the same time, Benjamin W. Corey of the Hi Fi Lab disclosed that a third distributor refused to sell him records yesterday. Mutual Distributors, which handle London records, blamed stoppage on "A moral duty to the Harvard Square merchants."
Corey indicated that he will bring suits against Mutual, Allied Distributors, and RCA Victor either today or tomorrow.
