Jim Thorpe Back to Stadium To Relive Memories of Glory

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Jim Thorpe returned to the Stadium yesterday to see if he could relive one of the great moments of his long football career. He couldn't.

Thorpe put on some football equipment, then tried to kick a 42-yard field goal. He missed but narrowly--on 20 attempts.

On November 11, 1911, Thorpe, playing for the Carlisle Indians, kicked four field goals to beat the Crimson, 18 to 15.
