Robert H. Cole, chairman of the Student Council committee investigating General Education, announced last night that the ponderous General Education report in finished and will be presented to the Council for approval a week from today.
Meanwhile, Dudley representative, Joseph H. Soble '53 stated that he will undertake a report based on commuters' protests that they are inconvenienced by Lamont's book-lending hours.
Commuters have complained because they must wait until 9 p.m. to take books out of Lamont before going home or else must return to the University after dinner.
Soble said last night that he had spoken with Lamont's directors, and that they had refused to change the present system on the grounds that there is no way to distinguish commuters from other students, and that if this concession were made, other groups would expect similar action.
