Council Examines New GE Course Suggestion

An unexpected suggestion for a new general education course, submitted by the Radcliffe Student Government Association, lengthened an otherwise uneventful Student Council meeting last night.

The course, as presented by the R.S.G.A. letter, "would emphasize a critical approach to current religious, social, and political problems, such as the role of newspapers in molding public opinion . . ."

Only a broad outline of the aims of the course was presented last night, with the idea of recording the opinions of Council members. The R.S.G.A. announced that it will present a complete report some time in the spring.

Meanwhile, Commuter representative Joseph H. Soble '53 announced that he will present a report next week on the Commuters' reaction to Lamont's book-lending policies.
