A nine percent increase in room rates for all resident Radcliffe students will go into effect next fall, President Jordan disclosed last night. Because of this raise, scholarship grants will be extended by 20 percent.
Single room boosts will be $100, while increase for economy doubles will amount to $70 a year. Rates for planned doubles will be the same as those for singles. The $15 medical fee, required of all students, will go up to $20.
Reasons for the increase were attributed to rises in the costs of food, matrials, and "substantial increases in compensation recently voted for all Radcliffe employees."
