One Night Stand Will Benefit 'Mikado' Cast

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Winthrop's Music Society will present "The Mikado" in a one-night reopening this evening in the Junior Common Room. Proceeds will be used to help reimburse cast members for the loss of clothing, pocketbooks, and records worth nearly $100 in a robbery last Saturday night.

According to producer Bruce K. Recker '52, a Boston costuming house has been unable to re-supply the cast with costumes, since the performances were scheduled to end last Saturday, and costumes have already been rented out.

As a result, Recker said, the cast members will wear authentic Japanese clothing, donated for the benefit production by Edwin O. Reischauer, professor of Far Eastern Languages, and John K. Fairbank '29, professor of History.

Recker said so far no one had been able to offer any solution for the theft, although both University and Cambridge police are still investigating it.
