"American foreign policy is immature, self-contradictory and unduly subject to the idiosyncracies of domestic politics" claimed Eddi Asirvatham, lecturer in the Boston University school of Theology and native of India.

Citing President Truman's recent statements about an "ultimatim," to Russia, Truman's and Secretary of State Acheson's actions in respect to Korea and Formost, and McCarthyism" as examples, Asirvatham said, "That is why we in India are reluctant to follow America's lead...we do not entirely accept the American analysis (of the world situation) or the American remedy."

"I quite agree," said the other panel member, Subbiah Kannappan, graduate of the University of Madras, and now of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. "The United States and the U.S.S.R. should stop this pressure...leave Asia alone to work out her own balance."
