To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
I wish to congratulate you for printing a fine editorial in this morning's CRIMSON. I refer to Mr. Maccoby's account of last week's Republican Mock Convention.
For five years I have been glancing at the CRIMSON and for four years I have been a member of the HYRC, but never have I seen such an accurate appraisal of the high command of Harvard's Republican organization. As political manipulators, they are tops. Wire recorders under piles of dirty laundry and rigged conventions are right up the alley of Roger Allan Moore & Company. I shudder to think of what might happen to the country if these admirers of Machiavelli should ever hold public office.
I hope that Harvard's breakfast table daily will continue to show what happens when an undergraduate political organization comes into contact with the illusions of importance possessed by those who control the HYRC. Vernon M. Hawkins, 3rd '51
