Robert H. Cole '52, author of the Council's Report on General Education, last night defended the opinion of his committee that G.E. has only achieved moderate success at the University.
Philip H. Rhinelander '29, executive secretary of the committee on Genera Education, said Thursday that the Council had misjudged the facts to make the program seem unsuccessful.
Cole said that "a plurality of 34 percent of the students polled picked the only objective, among five, not peculiar to G.E. Considering this with the response to other questions we asked, our position seems quite justified."
