Walsh Gets Wingate Trophy; Robinson Given Wendell Bat

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Baseball captain and catcher Charlie Walsh was named yesterday as the most valuable player on the 1952 Crimson nine, and will receive the Wingate Trophy as a result. The award is made by the coaches to the player they deem the best on the Harvard squad.

At the same time, it was announced that rightfielder Ralph Robinson had won the Wendell bat, emblematic of overall offensive supremacy.

In the competition for the Wendell Bat, points are awarded for each hit, run, stolen base, sacrifice, and for each time that a player reaches base safely.
