William James Hall Cracking, But University Will Mend All

Contrary to occupants' fears, the Graduate Center is in no danger of collapse.

James W. Ingraham, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, yesterday squelched such rumors which statred when students noticed widening cracks along the parapets of some of the buildings--especially William James Hall.

Ingraham said that cracks had existed since last fall and were due to the expansion of the concrete beams. Admitting that the cracks had grown considerably in size over the summer, he said that his men would repair them shortly. "There is no danger that I know of," Ingraham said, "but this is one of those things that you don't like to leave too long."
