Dartmouth's appearance here Saturday will mark more than the traditional football game between two Ivy League rivals. It will honor the 50th anniversary of Harvard stadium, dedicated at the Crimson-Indian game on November 14, 1903.
The anniversary ceremonies will include the appearance of the 29 living Crimson and Dartmouth players who were on the 1903 teams. A brief half-time ceremony is scheduled for the Saturday game. Those who attend will be honored at a pre-game luncheon, as guests of the HAA.
The stadium was the first large football arena built in the United States, and is described as the first example of reinforced concrete on a large scale.
