Council Upholds Plan For Joint Film Shows

Approval of the agreement made by Ivy Films, the Liberal Union, and the U.N. Council to show one film jointly, each week seemed certain last night when the plan was passed by the Student Council.

It will go to Associate Dean Watson for his approval today.

The Council also passed a resolution stating that there is no unfair monopoly involved in the film combination, and that any other groups wishing to exhibit pictures could still do so on evenings not already scheduled by the three. The Council still has made no effort to contact other groups who showed films last year. The combination was formed to eliminate competition of the three organizations among themselves.

The entire Council will lunch will Dean Watson today, to discuss administrative reasons for the recent parietal rules change prohibiting last permissions on football Saturdays.
