University Police Captain Matthew Toohy reported yesterday that five bicycles have been stolen from undergraduates during the past term. The bikes of John B. Read '57 and Daniel L. Caster '57 were stolen Monday night in the Yard.

Toohy said that usually the bicycle stealing occurs periodically every three of four weeks. He added that the only way students can protect their bikes in to register them with the Yard police and to keep them locked up, since thieves rarely use wire snips or saws.
