Howe Charges Cabinet Fails to Represent U.S.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The new Eisenhower cabinet "clearly represents a limited segment of the American people" and may bring "an arrogant and self-satisfied attitude toward foreign affairs," Mark DeWolfe Howe '28, professor of Law, charged last night.

Howe was debating with McGeorge Bundy, associate professor of Government, before about 300 people in Jordan Hall on the subject, "The Eisenhower Administration--Hopes and Fears."

Bundy praised the new administration for taking on such a strong "sense of direction" so soon. He felt that Eisenhower had captured the "confidence of government employees and the American people."
