Ufford and Watts Pace Squash Team to 9-0 Victory Over Williams

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Whatever chances the Williams squash team had against the high-riding Crimson Saturday dwindled to almost nothing when its first man, Dick Squires broke a wrist in an auto accident and could no play. The score was 9 to 0.

Soapie Symington moved into Squires' top position for the visitors and gave prep school teammate Charlie Ufford as good a match as could be expected. After he took the second game to tie the match at 1-1, the local fans, including Ufford, were cheering for him, but he tightened up and dropped the next two, 15-11, 15-9.

Captain Dave Watts bewildered his Williams opponent in the second spot. His speed, which broke both his opponent and his racquet, and his ability at cross-corner shots gave him the match, 15-10, 15-6, 15-10.

A makeshift jayvee team won 7 to 0.

The varsity travels to Annapolis to meet Navy next Friday, and tangles with Princeton on its return trip.
