The Crimson track men went to the Hoptagonals at Cornell Saturday hoping for a fifth place and came back satisfied. But their performances were a lot better than they expected, with Rob Rittenburg turning in an outstanding day's work.

The meet went to Cornell and Columbia as co-champions, each getting 33 points. Pennsylvania followed with 32 7-12 points, while the favored Army squad finished fourth, with 32 1-3. The first four were well ahead of the Crimson's 24, Yale's 22 7-12. Princeton's 14 1-4, Navy's 12, and Dartmouth's 4 1-2. Brown did not score.

Rittenburg picked up ten of the Crimson's total points when he won the 60-yard high hurdles in 07.7, and took second in the broad jump with a 22 7 3-4 inch leap. Bob Twitchell added points as he came in second to Rittenburg in the hurdles and fifth in the 60-ward dash.

The Crimson gathered the rest of its points as Hal Gerry came in with a second in the two-mile run, and Dwight Black and Bob Curran finished their and fourth in the weight throw.
