Yale Law students polled yesterday favored four to one a resolution criticizing the current Congressional investigations of colleges and universities.

By a vote of 255 to 68, the move called the investigations "unnecessary" and suggested that college committees are best qualified to cope with the "infrequently not Communist propagandist."

Of 471 students eligible to vote, 313 participated in the referendum conducted by the Yale Law School Student Association. "In addition to being unnecessary, the investigations so far have proved themselves of positive harm to the nation. The present investigations have shown a tendency to impute Communist sympathies," it read in part.
