Lacrosse Team Crushes NH, 14-5; Waring Raises Scoring Total to 29

Three Crimson attackmen cashed in for ten goals and ten assists yesterday as Bruce Munro's lacrosse team rolled over New Hampshire, 14 to 5, at the Business School Field. Phil Waring tossed in five goals to bring his nine-game total to 29. Monk Aiello got four goals and four assists, and Ed Curtis scored once and assisted six times.

New Hampshire never had a chance. At the end of the first period the Crimson led 7 to 1. The visitors rarely completed a clear and scored their five goals on unassisted midfield shots from the outside.

Midfielders Get Four

Goalie Steve Den Hartog turned in an outstanding first half in the goal, clearing the ball well and making two sensational saves on men who had unopposed shots in front of the goal. John Ogden played the second half and allowed only two goals.

Munro used four midfields and all showed up well against the weak New Hampshire team. Jim Telfer, Hank Wood, Ron Huebsch, and Pete Palches tossed in goals from the midfield.

Fourth-string midfielder John Law narrowly missed on what was probably the longest shot taken this year on the Business School field. Just over the line Law took a pass from Hank Rate and fired it at visiting goalie Mal Purington, missing the cage by inches.
