Tutor Holborn Outguesses Univac

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Frederick L. Holborn '49, tutor in Government, was awaiting final election returns last night to show the accuracy of his forecast of yesterday's mid-term contests.

Holborn made his predictions in competition with his government tutees and Univac, the mechanical brain used by CBS, whose early predictions he outguessed.

Holborn guessed right in all but one of the gubernatorial races, missing only Idaho. "I was wrong, though," he said, "In giving the Democrats 245-255 seats in the House. Expected Democratic gains in the Mountain states did not materialize." He also missed on three Senate races, in Ohio, Colorado, and Iowa. The New Jersey and Oregon races were still indefinite.
