Mile Relay Team Wins NEAAU at Providence

Running without its star anchor man, the varsity one mile relay team nevertheless captured the New England A.A.U. Championship last night in Providence.

With Dave Alpers out with a foot injury, Coach Bill McCurdy added Phil Meyers to the threesome of Jack Richards, Warren Little, and Alan Howe. The team's time was a slow 3:41, due to a poor, flat track. The Brown freshmen were second.

Other Crimson point-makers were Hal Gerry with a third in the 3-mile run; Dave Ingle, fourth in the mile run; and Art Siler, third in the shot put. Josy Barthel, graduate student from Luxemboug, won the mile in 4:35.3 minutes.
