Ernest B. Dane '55 of Leverett House and Middletown, R. I., was yesterday elected captain of the 1954-55 varsity ski team. He succeeds Hans Vitzthum '54, this year's captain.
At the same time, it was announced that James L. Galo '57 of Hollis Hall and Concord, Mass., will manage next year's team. Roger Langley '54 served as head manager this past season.
Dane, a two-year veteran, was the varsity's top cross country man this past season. He placed second in the Class B cross country run of the EISA Senior Divisional Championships at Lyndonville, Vt., and in many of the team's meets has skied in four events.
