Varsity swimmers past and present last night established the Harold S. Ulen Trophy in honor of the man who has coached Crimson varsity swimming teams for 25 years.
At a 25th anniversary dinner for Ulen last night, Charles J. Egan, Jr, '54, captain for the past season, became the first winner of the award. It will be presented to the "outstanding senior swimmer each year who most embodies sportsmanlike qualities."
In addition, David F. Hawkins '56 won the Wyman medal for the varsity swimmer who scores the most points in a season.
Ulen's swimming teams have won 173 meets while losing 44.
