Yardling Tennis Team Tops Dartmouth, 10-3

The freshman tennis team took their fifth straight victory, 10 to 3, yesterday against a weak Dartmouth squad. The Crimson won eight of the nine singles matches and split the four doubles matches.

Steve Gottleib defeated Jack Buswell in the first singles, 6-0, 6-2. Second man Ben Heckscher won over Bob Smith by the same score. Other singles winners were Cal Place, Doug Gardner, Barry Boehm, Dave Terris, Pete Banks, and Hank Holmes. Gardner and Banks were extended to extra sets before downing their Dartmouth opponents. Ninth singles player, Charlie MacVeigh lost his match after dropping the first set, 15-13.

In the doubles the teams of Charlie Edwards and Boehm, and Terris and Banks were victorious.

The Yardlings face St. Mark's here this afternoon.
