Lacrosse Team Plays U. of News Hampshire; Yardlings at Andover

The varsity lacrosse squad meets the University of New Hampshire at Durham this afternoon in a contest that may prove one of its toughest of the spring.

The New Hampshire team, usually mediocre, showed signs of strength last month by winning 8 to 6 over Stevens, a team which kept the Crimson in check for most of three periods. Its recent 13 to 3 victory over M.I.T. rates with the Crimson's 16 to 2 win over the Engineers.

Bruce Munro, Admittedly worried about the game, has held practice in the mud for the past two days, but has not been able to get in full-scale scrimmages because of drill conflicts and bad playing conditions.

Phil Waring will be in action despite his roughing up in the Penn game. X-rays were taken after that game in fear of a possible broken jaw or concussion, but they showed nothing wrong. John Lane, however, is still out. He may be able to work out Thursday and Friday and play in the Dartmouth game on Saturday, but will not even dress today.

Game time at Durham is 4 p.m.

The freshmen will be underdogs in their game at Andover. The perennially strong prep school squad has a three-year winning streak in the series.
