Bison "Lost" Downs Year's Oddest Play

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Associated Press sports writers and broadcasters poll voted the Bucknell "loss" of two downs in the Harvard-Bucknell game the freak play of the year.

The "loss" occurred with four minutes to go, when Referee Charles Bridley signalled Bucknell's fourth down and ten instead of second and ten. Bucknell did not make a first down and the Crimson took over.

This blunder nosed out the Pittsburgh-West Virginia play, where an extra point was kicked when there were no goalposts.
