The varsity wrestling team closed the best of Bob Pickett's five seasons as Crimson coach Saturday, typing Brown for eight place in the Eastern Intercollegiate Championship, and for first among the Ivy League schools.

The Crimson avenged two of its three season losses by finishing even with the Bruins and ahead of Yale. It also out-pointed Princeton and Pennsylvania both of Whom had the varsity dual meet competition.

Captain Ken Culbert led the varsity scoring, finishing third at 177. Culbert, who placed fourth last year, got falls in preliminary quarter-final bouts before he eventual champion Solomon, of Pittsburgh, overpowered him in 3:24

In the consolation bout, Culbert met Nays Zabrychi, who had pinned him in a previous match applied the reverse cradle, and pinned him in 1:01, fastest time of the tournament.

The varsity's only other points came from Phil Burnaman's forfelt into the quarter-finals at 130. Burnaman, who usually wrestles at 137 was too weak to avoid a 5 to 0 decision in the quarters.

Ed Keating (123), Mike Holmes (137) Dave Jordan (147) Len Miller (157), Casper Cronk (167), and Unlimited Pete Morrison lost his preliminary bout.
