Radcliffe has officially stepped up its campaign to raise $10 million within the next ten years, according to Mildred P. Sherman, Dean of College Relations.
A two-day meeting of key alumnae from all over the country held in Cambridge this week, was a sign that Radcliffe "is serious about the necessity for funds."
Delegates at the conference were instructed to investigate the financial positions of alumnae for "prospective special gift donors."
In intensifying its money-raising campaign, Radcliffe is following the Harvard lead. "We need to amass an endowment per student similar to that of Harvard," Dean Sherman said.
Parents of Radcliffe students have also been informed of the ten-year program. However, no pressure to contribute will be exerted upon those who are already burdened by education costs, Dean Sherman added.
