SYRACUSE, N.Y., Dec. 1--The Syracuse Nationals handed Boston its second defeat in the National Basketball Assn. campaign today, out-running and outshooting the Celtics for a 118-109 victory.

The Celtics came to town without Bob Cousy, who played 17 minutes in Boston's Saturday victory over Syracuse.
