Yanks Top Red Sox; Redlegs Beat Braves

Trailing 6-4 in the seventh inning, the Yankees scored eight times and went on to crush the Red Sox, 17-8, last night at Fenway Park.

Cincinnati gained its first victory of the season over the Milwaukee Braves, 11-6, in ten innings, after scoring twice to tie the score in the ninth. Baltimore was edged by the Senators, 3-2, in another extra-inning game, this one an 11-frame completion of an April 21 contest.

In other games, the Brooklyn Dodgers downed the Phillies' Robin Roberts, 5-1.

Stan Musial, the leading hitter in the National League, hit a two-run homer and youngster Lindy McDaniel hurled tight baseball as the St. Louis Cardinals dropped the Chicago Cubs last night, 6-2.

The Detroit Tigers broke a three-game losing streak with an 11-5 victory over the Cleveland Indians.
