H.D.C. Will Produce 'The Three Sisters'

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Anton Chekhov's The Three Sisters will be the HDC's first major offering of the season, producer Joel F. Henning '61 announced yesterday.

Elizabeth D. Stearns '60 will direct the Stark Young translation of the Russian tragedy. The production, scheduled to open at Agassiz Theatre Oct. 29, will feature Barbara J. Blanchard '60, Richard H. R. Smithies 2L, and Thomas A. Teal '59.

Young, who translated Chekhov for the Modern Library series, has expressed interest in the HDC production and hopes to be able to come to Cambridge to see it.

In his production of The Three Sisters, Henning is employing the novel technique of holding an open contest to choose the lighting director. Approximately a dozen students have submitted detailed plans.
