The Yardling football team, which has allowed only one touchdown in four previous contests, will seek to preserve its undefeated record against the Princeton freshmen, in Princeton, this afternoon.
Led by the passing of Grady Watts and the punting and running of John Damis, the Yardlings have amassed 93 points, although 44 of them were scored last Saturday against an undermanned Cheshire Academy team.
The Princeton freshmen have had an on-and-off year. They scored an impressive victory over highly-rated Columbia. But the freshman Tigers' coach, Jake McCandless, called their play in the Penn game, which they dropped 14 to 13, "listless, uninspired, and generally poor."
The tentative starting lineup for the Yardlings today is: Bob Boyda, right end; Bob Mautz, left end; Darlin Wile, right tackle; Mike Sheridan, left tackle; Bill Swinford, right guard; Tom Gaston, left guard; Tony Watters, center; Grady Watts, quarterback; Gil Bamford, fullback; Ray Williams, left halfback; and John Damis, right halfback.
