Al Martin pitched a ten inning shutout against Northeastern yesterday to lead the freshman baseball team to its fourth victory in four starts. A home run by Charlie Lockwood in the top of the tenth broke the scoreless tie to give the Yardlings a 1-0 win over the Huskies.
Martin's shutout was saved three times by double plays, with Martin himself involved in two of them. The game was primarily a pitchers' duel, with Northeastern limited to only three hits and Crimson batsmen garnering seven safeties off Northeastern pitchers. The Yardlings left seven on base, while the Huskies stranded eleven.
Tomorrow, the Freshmen defend their undefeated record against Brown with Wally Cook slated to do the pitching.
