To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
Mrs. Gertrude Dunbury, who has been secretary in the Financial Aid Office for seven years, died suddenly Monday night at Mt. Auburn Hospital after a brief illness.
Her death is a tragic personal loss to all of us who knew her and worked with her and a deeply felt loss in the work of the college.
She was known to hundreds of scholarship students as the unfailingly cheerful, helpful, and efficient person who greeted them in Weld 29, set up their papers, and straightened things out with the Bursar and other authorities. She had fun in her and energy, to spare, and was generous in her affection and concern for all who came her way. Her devotion to Harvard and Harvard students was warm and constant.
To have known and worked with her was a privilege and a blessing, and her death is a great sorrow. John U. Monro, Dean of the College.
