A bright flashing object which startled several College star-gazers as it sped across the sky early last night was a huge inflatable satellite launched over the Atlantic to a height of 250 miles.

The flying object was reported by residents along the Atlantic coast from Florida to Maine. According to one Cambridge observer it appeared traveling at meteoric speed from the south, seemed to pause over Kenmore Square, then drifted slowly toward Boston, trailing two glowing streams of vapor.
