Mrs. Daisy N. Newman, Head Resident of Holmes Hall, yesterday emphatically denied rumors that she will leave if the girls of Holmes vote for Sunday afternoon parietal hours.
When questioned about rumors concerning her decision. Mrs. Newman said that she was happy with her job, and "would not walk out on the girls." She explained the spread of the rumors with the observation that "you can't always believe what the girls say any more than you can always believe what the CRIMSON says."
At a recent "pretty wild" meeting. Briggs Hall voted to try parietal hours once a month on Sunday afternoons from until 4 p.m. Most of the opposition to he proposal, according to Jane M. Rabb 61, Briggs Hall President, came from seniors who are writing theses and other girls who feel that "the bedroom is no place to entertain young men."
