Large hand-scrawled signs saying "Howard Johnson's," "Bleak House," and simply "No!" have suddenly appeared on dorm roofs as 'Cliffies protested the most obvious manifestation of "the House System": fairy-tale colored paint.
North House's bright blue bell tower ("It clashes with the sky.") prompted aesthetics to re-name it "Bleak House," while others, of a less literary disposition, simply proclaimed "No!"
