Theater Finds New Site for Workshop

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Poets' Theater has found a new home almost a year after fire destroyed its old quarters.

Next week the group will hold open house in a 49-seat workshop theater which it built on the second floor of 286 Massachusetts Ave. across from Widener Library.

On Nov. 10 and 11 the theater will open its twelfth season with a workshop production of "The Portable Tiger" by Fireman Houghton '41, editor of Audience magazine. Alan Fox, manager of the non-profit organization, said nearly 125 actors auditioned for the play last Saturday.

The group's second production, scheduled for Nov. 24 and 25, is "The Calm" by British poet Ted Hughes. Donald Winkel's "The Jar" will be presented Dec. 8 and 9.
