Lowell House Issues Latinized Dues Cards

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

"Collegium Lowellense in Vniversitate Harvardiani" yesterday became the first House to issue Latin dues cards. The cards were part of a "special printing in commemoration of last spring's Latin riots."

"The Lowell House Committee does not seek to revive the demonstrations of last spring," said Alan Mack '62, designer and distributor of the cards. "But in view of the fact that Lowell House was a well-spring of pro-Latin sentiment during the riots and contributed many martyrs to the cause, we thought it only proper that this year's dues cards be printed in Latin."

Mack anticipates increased sales as a result of the Latinization measure and is even offering souvenir cards suitable for framing to non-House members at a reduced price.

Some House members are still expected to hold out on their dues, however, Mack admitted. Commented one such holdout: "Latin si, dues cards no."
