Tigers' Rally Defeats Crimson Rugby Club

The Princeton rugby team slapped a 12-8 defeat on the Crimson Saturday, coming from the low end of an 8-2 deficit to score three tries in the final period.

Princeton scored first, but was outplayed throughout the whole first half. The Tigers altered their defense during the half-time break, however, and were able to keep Harvard outside the Princeton 25-yard line for the rest of the game.

The opening try came on a penalty kick after a Crimson player illegally trapped the ball in front of the Harvard goal. Two scores by the Crimson's Stephen Karplus, and a conversion by Keith Julian, completed the first half scoring.

Princeton's next two tries both followed Tiger kicks from about the Crimson 40, which forced Harvard deep into its own territory. Taking over the ball, Princeton was able to score each time.

The Tigers made their final points on a set scrum from about 10 yards out.
